Are kids born with cerebral palsy?

Yes, most children with cerebral palsy are born with the condition, although the signs may not appear immediately. The brain injury usually occurs before birth (due to maternal infection, restricted blood flow, or developmental issues), during birth (complications or lack of oxygen), or shortly after birth (premature delivery, jaundice, or infection). In some cases, the effects of CP only become noticeable months or years later when a child shows delayed development.

If you suspect your child may have CP, early assessment is key—book consultation now.
