Can autism be cured?

Autism is not something that needs to be “cured.” It is a lifelong neurodevelopmental condition that shapes how a person thinks, learns, and interacts with the world. The focus of support is not on eliminating autism but on helping the individual build skills, manage challenges, and live a fulfilling life. Therapies aim to support communication, independence, emotional regulation, and quality of life—not to change who the person is. With early and tailored support, many autistic individuals thrive in school, work, and relationships.
