How do I know if I have dysgraphia?

You may suspect dysgraphia if writing feels disproportionately difficult compared to your ability to speak or understand language. Common red flags include:

  • Messy or inconsistent handwriting
  • Frequent spelling errors despite good reading ability
  • Difficulty translating ideas into written form
  • Slow writing speed causing frustration at school or work
  • Ongoing struggles with note-taking, essays, or forms.
A formal diagnosis requires an evaluation by a psychologist or occupational therapist, as self-diagnosis is not reliable.
