How does the NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention work?

The NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) pathway supports children under 9 years old who have a developmental delay or disability. The ECEI approach focuses on:
  • Providing early support to improve long-term outcomes.
  • Connecting families to local support services.
  • Funding specialised therapies if needed.
Children under 6 do not need a formal diagnosis to access early intervention supports, as long as there is evidence of significant developmental delay.

Families work with an early childhood partner to determine the best supports for the child.
