What are global developmental delay symptoms?

The symptoms of Global Developmental Delay (GDD) can vary depending on the child, but they generally involve delays in reaching developmental milestones in multiple areas. These signs are usually noticeable before age five.

Common symptoms include:
• Delayed speech or limited vocabulary for age
• Difficulty with crawling, walking, or fine motor skills
• Poor coordination or low muscle tone
• Challenges with social interaction or eye contact
• Trouble with problem-solving, play, or following instructions

If a child is behind in two or more of these domains, it may indicate GDD.
