What does cerebral palsy (CP) do?
Cerebral palsy primarily affects movement, muscle tone, and posture. Depending on severity, CP can make tasks like walking, speaking, eating, or writing more difficult. Some people with CP experience only mild motor challenges, while others may require wheelchairs, communication devices, or assistance with daily activities.
CP does not get worse over time, but symptoms may change as the body grows and ages. With therapy, adaptive technology, and NDIS supports, many children and adults with CP lead active and fulfilling lives.
