What does NDIS stand for?

NDIS stands for National Disability Insurance Scheme. It is Australia’s first national scheme designed to provide funding for supports and services to people with a disability, as well as their families and carers. Unlike previous systems, the NDIS is person-centred and gives participants more control over the type of supports they receive.

This funding can cover areas such as behavioural therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, and assistive technology depending on individual needs.
