What is oppositional defiant disorder DSM 5 criteria?

According to the DSM-5 (Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition), ODD is defined as a pattern of angry/irritable mood, argumentative/defiant behaviour, or vindictiveness lasting at least 6 months. For diagnosis, these behaviours must occur during interactions with at least one person who is not a sibling and cause significant impairment in social, educational, or family functioning.

Severity is specified as mild, moderate, or severe depending on how many settings the behaviours appear in (e.g., home, school, community). The DSM-5 provides the criteria professionals use to formally diagnose ODD and determine appropriate interventions.
