What is the link between cerebral palsy and ADHD?

Children with cerebral palsy are more likely to experience comorbid conditions such as ADHD (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder). Research shows higher rates of inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity among children with CP compared to the general population.

This link may be due to shared brain pathways affected by early brain injury, as well as challenges with executive functioning. ADHD in children with CP can impact learning, social interaction, and behaviour. Early assessment and combined interventions—including behavioural therapy, parent training, and medical support—can significantly improve outcomes.

If your child has CP and ADHD, tailored therapy can help—book your appointment now.
