When is dyspraxia diagnosed?
Dyspraxia is often diagnosed in early childhood, usually between the ages of 5 and 7, when motor difficulties become more noticeable at school. Some children may show signs earlier, such as delays in walking, talking, or self-care, but a formal diagnosis is often made once motor challenges clearly affect daily functioning. In some cases, dyspraxia is not identified until teenage years or adulthood, especially if symptoms are mild. Early diagnosis ensures children can access school supports and NDIS-funded therapy sooner.
