Where does dyslexia come from?

Dyslexia comes from differences in how the brain processes written and spoken language. Research shows that these differences often appear in areas responsible for phonological processing, memory, and reading fluency. It is not caused by poor teaching, low intelligence, or vision problems, but by how the brain interprets symbols and sounds. Dyslexia often runs in families, suggesting a genetic link, but environmental factors such as early language exposure and quality of teaching also play a role in how it presents.
