Who is eligible for the NDIS?

To be eligible for the NDIS, you must meet certain access requirements set by the NDIA:

  1. Age – You must be under 65 years old when you apply.
  2. Residency – You must live in Australia and be an Australian citizen, permanent resident, or hold a Protected Special Category Visa.
  3. Disability requirements – You must have a permanent and significant disability that impacts your ability to take part in everyday activities, or
  4. Early intervention – You may be eligible if early supports will reduce your future support needs.
Eligibility is determined through an NDIS access request and supporting evidence.
