Will the NDIS pay for an autism assessment?

The NDIS does not usually fund diagnostic assessments like autism assessments. These are typically covered by the health system or private providers. However, once a diagnosis or significant developmental delay is established, the NDIS can fund supports such as speech therapy, behaviour therapy, and occupational therapy.

In some cases, supporting evidence for access may include reports from assessments already completed.
